Smaart Online Lab: Averaging
This is a Level 2 session, hosted by Rational Acoustics and taught by Jamie Anderson.
There are many places where averaging is employed as an important tool in Smaart for calculating and analyzing data. At its core, averaging is a mathematical tool for removing variance and noise in a data set. This lab will cover topics including Temporal vs Spatial Averaging, Live vs Static Averaging, Weighting, and Polar vs Complex Averaging.
Attendance to this session requires Smaart Operator Level I certification.
ABOUT SMAART ONLINE LAB SESSIONS
Smaart Online Lab Sessions are in-depth presentations on select topics building upon the foundation established from the Smaart Operator Fundamentals course content. These sessions include demonstrations and in-depth discussions on the chosen topic. Each session will run between 90 minutes and 2 hours. Attendance is limited to a maximum of 8 attendees to enhance direct student-instructor interaction.
Smaart Online Lab Sessions are conducted via Zoom. Registered attendees will be emailed a session link and password, along with instructions for joining the session, approximately 48 hours prior to the session start time. Please be sure your computer and internet connection meet Zoom’s minimum system requirements and that your webcam and microphone are working prior to joining the session. Refunds will not be issued for missed sessions due to attendee computer problems.
Smaart Online Lab Sessions are conducted live, and the sessions will not be archived for later viewing. Please be sure you are available to attend the session in-person prior to registering.
